Her novels provide a rare look into one of the nation’s most controversial police departments. Since her retirement from police department, she has produced a variety of work including young adult novels, short stories and several works for the theater.

She helped break the glass ceiling for women in police work going from patrol officer, to undercover and narcotics detective and finally was the commanding officer at the LAPD’s high profile Hollywood Division.
